Dairy Association of Zambia under the Copperbelt Dairy Expansion Project have been conducting training this week in animal breeding, animal health as well as conducting Jersey Breed awareness activities where at least 30 farmers attended . These trainings were conducted at bull stations where the farmers also had the opportunity to see the bull which was delivered two months ago.
Under this project which is supported by the Royal Jersey Agriculture and Horticulture Society, Jersey bulls have been placed in areas which are not reached by the Project Artificial Insemination technicians. Out of the 10 planned bull stations on the Copperbelt, six bulls have been received so far at Siwap and Chanbatata bull stations in Masaiti district, Chiwala and Bwembelelo bull stations in Mpongwe districts, Kanenga and Mufulira bull stations
